The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a state management body that implements a unified state policy in the field of food safety. On February 12, 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Republic of Uzbekistan was divided into two ministries: the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water.
Main functions
- First of all, in the field of agriculture and food security, which involves the digitalization of agriculture and the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in the field, the introduction of market principles in the interaction between agricultural entities, the introduction of advanced experience and scientific achievements, modern resource-saving and intensive agro-technologies implementation of a unified state policy;
- Stimulating the creation of the added value chain of agriculture and food products by expanding modern cooperative relations in the production, storage, processing and marketing of agricultural and food products;
- Implementation of measures for the wide implementation of the cluster model of agribusiness, improvement of the organizational-legal and economic basis of the clustering process, support for the implementation of investment projects on the establishment and development of clusters in agricultural sectors;
- Coordinating state support measures for agriculture, which will help timely financing of agrotechnical activities, financial stability of producers of agricultural products, increase the productivity of low-yielding lands, ensure food security and increase the export of agricultural products;
- Placement of agricultural crops, monitoring of agricultural land, planting and maintenance of agricultural crops;
- Carrying out soil inspection, determining the standard value of agricultural land, carrying out research on soil science, geobotany;
- Encourage mechanization of agriculture and deep processing of agricultural products by developing modern financial services and increasing access to quality agricultural machinery;
- Formation of a modern system of preparation, use and export of seeds of agricultural crops, organization and development of primary seed production of local and foreign breeding varieties, including biotechnological varieties;
- Implementing a unified state policy in the field of plant protection, pest and weed control, agrochemical services, and systematic measures for soil protection;
- Ensuring the systematic integration of education, science and agricultural production, taking into account the current and future needs of highly qualified specialists of the agricultural industry, training, retraining and improving their qualifications;
- Coordination and regulation of activities of all interested organizations within the framework of organic production and acceptable agricultural practice (Global G.A.P.);
- Implementation of effective state control in the field of organization and protection of agricultural land use.
