New opportunities are being given in terms of digitalization of the agricultural sector
On August 3 of this year, at the Tashkent State Agrarian University, the essence of the decision No. 257 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, adopted on August 2, 2023, “On measures to introduce digital technologies in the field of agriculture” dedicated seminar-training was held.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Khahramon Yuldashev opened the seminar with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and scientific-research institutes, centers, agrarian sector under his authority, and the importance of the decision in the agrarian sector, based on it, to the representatives of the sector focused on the following tasks:
“This decision was taken by the head of our state today, taking into account the importance of digitalization of the agricultural sector. One of the tasks set before the ministry in the implementation of this decision is to create a single integrated platform that combines several information systems in the agricultural sector, and within it, a single agrosystem that regulates relations
between the producer of agricultural products and state organizations. is to set up. An action plan for the implementation of the tasks specified in this decision has been developed. In today’s seminar, we aim to convey the essence of this decision to the representatives of the industry and to hear the opinions of the participants in this regard and put them into practice.”
According to the decision, from September 1, 2023, the “Agroplatform” information system will be introduced as part of the “Digital Agriculture” single platform. The expenses for the production of agricultural products from the harvest of the next year, i.e. 2024, will be financed based on the orders of commercial banks formed electronically through “Agroplatforma” AT. In this case, electronic services will be provided to producers through their personal offices in “Agroplatforma” AT.
It is worth noting that, according to the decision, the organizational and legal form of the state institution “Agroindustry Digitization Center” under the Ministry of Agriculture was changed to a limited liability company, and it was determined that it will operate as a single integrator operating in the direction of digitalization of the agrarian sector. Commercialization of services and development of public-private partnership relations, permanent organization of training courses, and attraction of experts in the field of information and communication technologies of international class are envisaged.
